For smoke particles, the filter canister relies on the physical interception of glass fiber or synthetic fiber filter media. Through direct interception, inertial impaction, and diffusion effects, it captures particles of different sizes layer by layer, avoiding pore blockage. For irritating gases, the core filter material is impregnated activated carbon—its ultra-large specific surface area can physically adsorb organic vapors, and the added potassium hydroxide and other agents can neutralize acidic gases such as hydrogen chloride, completely eliminating toxicity.

Carbon monoxide, as an "invisible killer," requires specialized treatment with a carbon monoxide catalyst. The carbon monoxide catalyst is integrated at the back end of the filter canister, catalyzing the reaction of carbon monoxide with oxygen at room temperature without preheating, converting it into non-toxic carbon dioxide, solving the problem that ordinary filter materials cannot remove carbon monoxide.
